Amber S. Gell is a rocket scientist from Lockheed Martin and NASA. She holds four Master’s Degrees and two bachelor’s degrees in engineering, science, business and finance. Ms. Gell is currently part of the Civil Space team and over the past decade has been pivotal in designing and building the Orion Spacecraft, NASA’s spacecraft for Deep Space Exploration that will be used to take humans to the Moon, Asteroids, Mars, and beyond.
In 2016, Amber received the Lifetime Achievement Award from President Barack Obama and Amber is the recipient of eight United States Presidential Volunteer Service Awards from Presidents Obama and Bush. Her accolades also include receiving the 2013 Women in Space Science Award, a 2010 early-career Rotary Stellar National Award for Space Achievement Nomination, and dozens of other awards for her outstanding technical contributions to the Aerospace Community.

In her personal life, Amber is married to Arizona State Senator Andrew C. Sherwood and in her free-time, Amber is a competitive triathlete, Wilderness First Responder and scuba diver with the rank of Master Diver.
